Object Description
Circa 1810, set of 8 Scottish Regency mahogany dining chairs, in the manner of William Trotter of Edinburgh. Recently reupholstered in red hide, with shaped backs featuring a rope twist top rail and upholstered panel between shaped fluted uprights. There are generous overstuffed seats with close brass nailing. Fluted sabre legs to front and outswept rear supports. Two carvers with scrolled, fluted arms on shaped supports.
