Traditionally conceived as open salts for the table, each piece is modelled in an elegant ovoid form, combining functional purpose with a sculptural delicacy. The exteriors are richly decorated with finely hand-painted botanical specimens, rendered with remarkable precision and subtle coloration. Each plant is carefully identified on the reverse with its Latin name, reflecting the scholarly accuracy and artistic discipline that define the Flora Danica pattern. Gilded accents further enhance the refined appearance of the pieces.
The undersides bear the green printed Royal Copenhagen crown mark alongside the underglaze blue wave lines, an emblem used by the manufactory since its founding in 1775, symbolising Denmark’s surrounding waterways.
