Object Description
A fine set of 12 French 1st standard silver (950 purity) table knives and 12 dessert knives made in Paris in c. 1860. They were re-bladed to stainless steel in c. 1930.
Full sets of 19th century knives are difficult to find today and this is a lovely set in a restrained rococo pattern.
The set would be suitable for use with a variety of patterns of flatware.
The knives are in good condition.
As with most 19th century knives, these knives should only be hand-washed and are not suitable for the dishwasher.
Dimensions: length (of table knives) 25 cm, length (of dessert knives) 20.6 cm; weight of table knives (each) 2.6 troy oz (inc filling and blade), weight of dessert knives (each) 1.8 troy oz (inc filling and blade).
