Object Description
Set of Judaica silver Rimonim (Torah finials)
Middle-Eastern, c.1800
Pair: height 46cm, diameter 8cm
Single: height 24cm, diameter 17cm
Weight approximately 1,500 grams
In a tiered, hexagonal form, with galleries of balustrades, these fine Torah finials, rimonim, are decorated with repousse-work and feature chased panels, inscribed with lines of Hebrew script. They date to circa 1800, and have an unclear yet Middle-Eastern/Southern Mediterranean origin. The two taller pieces form a pair, while the third stand-alone piece is made in a similar stylistic fashion, probably from the same workshop. Excellent historical pieces of Judaica, they are likewise elegant pieces of silverwork, both fine decorative and religious objects.
