Object Description
A fine set of six William IV mahogany dining chairs with leather drop in squab seats.
English Circa 1830.
Overall of elegant design and constructed from a fine choice of mahogany, the scrolled top rail finely carved with acanthus leaf design incorporating a central rosette, held by shaped mahogany supports joined by a central carved lotus leaf rail. The drop in squab upholstered in a piped chestnut coloured leather hyde above a panelled frieze flanked by conforming inset carved rosetteās over finely ring turned tapering reeded front legs with splay legs to the rear.
Offered in excellent condition having been restored in a traditional manner retaining a striking colour and patina to the waxed polished figured mahogany.
A good set of comfortable dining chairs that are of strong stable construction and ready for use.
Note a good use of dense timber, finely carved with a superb original patina.
