Object Description

A good set of 12 table and 12 dessert knives made in London in 1853 by Francis Higgins of London.

The knives are in the thread pattern and have been rebladed in the 20th century in a matt finish stainless steel (1913 invention) from the original carbon steel which would have been prone to rust.

The knives are in very good condition for their age with no splitting.

Original full sets of knives in good condition are becoming increasingly difficult to find.

Dimensions, table knives 25.6 cm, dessert knives 21.9 cm.

Weight, gross filled weight table knives 3 troy oz, dessert knives 1.8 troy oz.
