Object Description
No10964
A pretty Sheraton Period Mahogany and Rosewood Crossbanded D-shaped fold over card table with double gate action raised on ring turned tapered legs. This is a particularly good example of elegant Georgian furniture and would have been in a good home at the end of the 18th. and start of the 19th. centuries The Rosewood Crossbanding is complemented by line inlay repeated on the stiles at the frieze with panels of contrasting mahogany.
The double gate action is always a sign of quality as it is more expensive to produce and has the advantage of the opened table supported at each corner by a leg.
