Object Description
Circa 1900. The neat size Sheraton style mahogany and inlaid ladies’ desk with an insert tan tooled and gilded writing surface, with a raised section which has a pierced brass gallery, is hinged opening to reveal a well-fitted interior, the sides with a pair of inlaid flaps with canted corners the flaps held in place by a pair of wooden hinges, the front with a full length drawer with circular inlay and pierced brass handles, polished on all sides making it freestanding, resting on four square tapering legs with string inlay in the facings finishing on brass castors.
