Object Description
A brass-cased English ships clock, the eight-day timepiece movement by Elliott.
Elliotts were quality English clockmakers of the 20th century, sadly going out of business in the 1990s. This clock has a substantial cast brass case with hinged bezel fitted with thick beveled glass. The movement is protected by a dust plate, and the balance of the movement has further protection in the form of a metal cover. These are quality touches which elevate Elliott clocks above other makers’.
The 7-inch dial has Roman numerals, and has a regulation slot in the centre. It has the original black-painted spade hands, and a centre seconds hand in red. The clock is wound through the dial.
