This classic English sterling silver coffee set is a simplified, elegant piece of artistry dating from the Edwardian period of the early 20th Century. The set contains two coffee pots, a milk jug and a sugar bowl and spoon, all of which are decorated in a consistently simple yet effective way.
The set is the work of the London-based firm Holland, Aldwinckle & Slater, a sought-after maker of luxury silverware in the 19th Century. The firm was originally founded in 1838 by silversmith Henry Holland and would undergo several changes in name and ownership across the 19th Century, before finally taking up the name of Holland, Aldwinckle & Slater in 1883.
Each piece bears sterling silver hallmarks as well as maker’s marks and monograms for Holland, Aldwinckle & Slater
