Object Description
Silver-gilt, enamel, diamond and semi-precious stone flower model
Continental, 20th Century
Height 14cm, width 6.5cm, depth 4.5cm
This 20th century floral sculpture is inspired by the celebrated craftsmanship of Fabergé, and showcases the refined artistry associated with the Russian Imperial style.
At the heart of this ornamental creation is a finely sculpted blossom fashioned from rose quartz. Its gentle blush tone is beautifully accented by a sparkling stigma set with dazzling diamonds. The flower, portrayed in full bloom, is affixed to a graceful stem made of silver-gilt further embellished with two meticulously carved nephrite leaves, adding depth and realism.
The entire arrangement is anchored by an elegant vase, distinguished by its sophisticated guilloché enamel surface—a labour-intensive decorative technique producing intricate patterns beneath translucent enamel. Delicate hand-painted designs, some with musical motifs, enhance its artistic charm. Inside, a glass lining subtly peeks out. Two sculpted swans elegantly flank the tapering vase, all mounted on a richly coloured lapis lazuli base with bevelled edges.
The silver-gilt stem is stamped with spurious marks.
This objet d’art’s exceptional craftsmanship and vivid coloration make it a truly enchanting acquisition.
