Object Description
A silver plate and glass Travel Inkwell of slightly smaller than standard.
The design was common to a number of travel inkwells made in the first half of the 19th Century although most were commonly made of brass on glass as opposed to silver plate. The cap is lined with a pad and is secured by a hinged bolt to fix it for travel. The edge of the silver plated top has a moulding as opposed to the plain edge that most brass versions have. Early to mid 19th Century.
