Object Description
A stunning mid 19th century Gothic cathedral clock, the silvered architectural case with a stepped base, and intricate gilt mounts for the rose window, steeples and bell tower.
The 4″ Roman dial is of pierced rose window form, with original matching quatrefoil hands.
The French 8-day twin train movement has a silk suspension and with outside countwheel striking mechanism on a bell, and also operating the strike on the ornamental bell in the tower.
The back of the clock has a removable polished plate, which gives a mirrored effect behind the pendulum. It can be material covered to add colour, or indeed removed to add light.
