This desk boasts extremely attractive and exceptionally well figured burr walnut veneers. Put simply the quality throughout is magnificent, with the all important drawers still running as smoothly as the day they were made. The overall feel is of real elegance and sophistication and the materials which have been used in its construction are of the highest quality.

The small but practical size is a breath of fresh air for those with little available floor space to set up a working from home environment, yet somehow it still manages to be big enough and offers enough storage for practical day to day working.

Georgian and Victorian pedestal desks vary wildly in style, shape, size, finish and quality, but this example is right at the top of the tree in that respect and is one of the very best you will find of it’s type. The burr walnut veneers are absolutely fabulous, so decorative in their design.

The desk does come into three pieces for ease of transportation as is common for this period and that of course makes it even easier to get into absolutely any location around the home which the purchaser desires.

The London firm of Edwards & Roberts were one of the most well known London furniture makers from 1845-1899. Taking influence from the likes of Chippendale, Sheraton and Hepplewhite, the company gained a good reputation for elegance and quality. Much of their furniture is clearly stamped making it easy to identify.

As with all items which we offer for sale this 19th century desk has been attended to in our workshops, by our highly skilled, trained antique furniture restorers and received a traditional wax polish finish to ensure that it is absolutely ready to be placed straight into a home, or office environment.
