Object Description

A Charming And Extremely Attractive Early 19th Century Continental, Probably French, Mahogany Chest Of Rare Small Proportions, Having Superbly Figured Top Over Five Well Figured Drawers With Original Brass Handles, Flanked By Canted Corners, Raised On Elegant Original Reverse Tapering Square Feet.

This charming little chest of drawers is a faulously functional size, perfect for many, many different spots in both the home and the office. We think it would make a fabulous little bedside chest of drawers, or alternatively would make a great option in the living room with a lamp or similar on top of it where one might normally use an occasional table of some kind.

It is almost certainly French in origins, dating to the 1820’s empire period. The maker has selected extremely well figured flamed mahogany veneers and these create a wonderful decorative effect.

Overall the condition is very good and clearly the chest has been well loved and well looked after throughout its life.

As with all items which we offer for sale the chest of drawers has been inspected by our highly skilled, traditional antique furniture restorers. It has also receieved a natural wax polish to ensure that it is ready for immediate placement within the home or office after purchase.
