This is a fine quality small antique English landscape oil painting by M. C. Hider, of Widecombe village in Devon, South West England, set within its original gilt frame, circa 1920, in excellent original condition. This small oil painting, which is painted on canvass, is very well painted. It depicts a quintessential English landscape village scene, of Widecombe in Devon, South West England. The artist is positioned on the right-hand bank, amongst green vegetation, wild flowers and trees. Beyond, we see green pastures with grazing sheep with the village tower in the background, surrounded by cottages. This is an advantageous position to paint, as the viewer can see the whole panorama beyond the village.
