Object Description

Very unusual early 19th century Georgian campaign style mahogany chest of drawers of a delightful small size. Only 24″ wide by 42″ high. Four full width drawers with a fitted secretaire drawer to the top. All the drawers with cock beading, ash lined with later sunk in brass handles. The chest stands on its original nicely turned feet. The chest has its original brass carrying handles to the sides. This is one of the most unusual chest of drawers I have seen but is perfectly right apart from the change of handles, it looks like it had brass knobs originally. The piece is a lovely mellow colour with waxed finish. There is an old filled crack to the top but it doesn’t hardly notice. All the locks are original with both original keys, the top lock is a bramah lock for the secretaire drawer and all locks work.

SIZE; 24″ wide by 17 1/2″ deep by 42″ high

CIRCA; 1800
