An Extremely Good Quality George III Period Mahogany Drum Top Library Table, Of Unusually Small Proportions, Having Attractive Replacement Gilt Tooled Leather Top. Over Three Drawers And Three False Drawers, With Replacement Brass Knobs To Well Figured Frieze, Raised On Elegant Turned Central Column, With Three Reeded Splayed Legs And Original Brass Castors.

Drum tables, in their more normal larger form often referred to as rent tables, were originally made for a variety of different spaces around the home, hence being perfect for a wide variety of spaces around the modern home. They are useful as small desks, in a library, behind a settee, at the end of a bed, in the corner of a living room, the list and possibilities is endless, especially when as beautifully proportioned as this one.

The size of this is extremely desirable indeed, a bit smaller than normally found, meaning it is even more useful and functional around the home than many. It certainlu would add a real touch of elegance to any positionit finds itself in as well as the aforementioned functionality and the added bonus of being a talking point.

The table is excellent quality and has real elegance to its clean, simple design. The leather top has been recently replaced and is an excellent quality, well decorated leather. The brass knobs to the drawers are replacements but the brass castors are original.

As with all items we offer for sale this georgian mahogany drum top table has been inspected in our workshops by our highly skilled, trained traditional antique furniture restorers and received a natural wax polish before being offered for sale, ensuring that it is ready for immediate placement within the home or office after purchase.
