Object Description

A Charming George I Period Walnut Chest, Of Relatively Small Proportions, Having Well Figured Crossbanded Top With Quarter Veneers, Over Two Short And Three Long Drawers, Retaining Original Brass Handles, Raised On Original Shaped Bracket Feet.

This fabulous little chest, which dates to the early 18th century has a host of desirable features. The first of these features is of course its size and scale, the perfect size for such a wide variety of different functions, offering practical storage solutions without imposing itself and dominating a room.

It is also a wonderful mellow colour, plus retains original brass handles and its original bracket feet. This level of originality is something which is quite rarely found when taking into account that the chest is just over 300 years old.

We think it would be great as a bedside chest, in an entrance hall, on the landing, in the living room beside a sofa or in the corner with a lamp on, or in a whole host of other spaces. The list is endless!

As with all items which we offer for sale the chest of drawers has been inspected and attended to in our workshops, by our highly skilled, trained traditional antique furniture restorers and received a natural wax polish ensuring that it is in good retail condition before being offered for sale.
