Small Roman Glass Jar

Object Description

A small Roman jar blown from pale blue, translucent glass although the majority of the surface is now covered in encrustation or iridescence. The vessel features a globular body with the shoulders narrowing in to a short neck. The mouth is outsplayed with a folded rim. The jar sits upon a concave base.

Date: Circa 2nd-3rd century AD

Object Condition

Very fine condition, encrustation and iridescence to the surface as consistent with age.
