Object Description

A fine quality small early Victorian burr walnut writing cabinet.The shallow frieze drawer above a fall front that opens to reveal a maple interior with three rows of drawers and pigeon holes and the original gilt tooled Morocco leather insert..There is a single shelf behind the bottom doors.

Thought to have been made for The Great Exhibition of 1851.

Object Condition

Fine colour and conditionand made using the finest burr walnut veneers,the carving is top class. Writing height is 30 ins .A small and useful piece of furniture.
