Staffordshire musicians figure group

Object Description

Staffordshire group with a musical theme which features a seated lady playing a lute with a gentleman next to her, stood on a shaped scroll work base. Multi-coloured with underglaze blue version. Dull gilt embellishment. Flatback, decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the underside.

Object Condition

Generally good. A few paint losses to her lute, top, apron, their hair and his boots. Some rubbing to gilt. KILN EFFECT: kiln grit caught in the glaze to the reverse. RESTORATION: Filled chip to top of lute.
