Staffordshire Pearlware castle spill vase

Object Description

Staffordshire pearlware spill vase which features a turreted castle, stood on a marbleised base. Multi-coloured version. Decorated ‘in the round’ – decoration to front and reverse. Book reference not found.

Object Condition

Generally good. A few small flakes to top of the turrets and base. KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze to the castle; firing hole to the end turret. RESTORATION: Section of middle turret remodelled. Section of base reglued and join retouched. Hairline stabilised, but visible on close inspection. Filled chips to top of turrets.
