Object Description

Staffordshire Pottery pearlware figure with a mythological theme which features a lady wrapped in a shawl, holding a cornucopia of flowers,, stood on a square base. Multi-coloured version. Decorated ‘in the round’ – decoration to front and reverse. Vent hole to the underside. This piece represents Spring, one of a group of four figures representing the seasons. Maker’s marks painted to the underside.

Object Condition

Good. Tiny chips to flower posy. Small flake to left foot and reverse. KILN EFFECTS: fleck of stray yellow glaze to her cheek. RESTORATION. Neck reglued and join retouched. Retouched paint losses to base.
