Staffordshire Pearlware deer figure

Object Description

Staffordshire pearlware figure which features a deer, recumbent on a shaped base. Decorated ‘in the round’ – decoration to front and reverse. Open bottomed.

Object Condition

Fair. A few paint losses to deer. KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the deer. RESTORATION. Remodelled both ears. Bocage is absent, tidied up stump. Filled chips to base edge. Retouched paint losses to ground. Retouched flake to deer neck.
