Staffordshire Pottery 'Tom King' figure on horseback

Object Description

Staffordshire Pottery figure with a folklore theme which features Tom King on horseback, stood on an oval base. The piece is titled, ‘TOM . KING’ . Decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the reverse.

Object Condition

Good. Small flake to lower base edge at front. Slight wear to reverse and to front of hat. KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze to base front; glaze run to boot; firing hole next to front, right hoof. RESTORATION. Some minor retouched paint losses.
