Object Description

Staffordshire figure with a religious theme which features John Wesley preaching from a pulpit above a clock face, stood on a shaped base. The piece is titled, ‘WESLEY’ . Dull gilt titles and embellishment. Flatback, decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the reverse. Book reference ,’Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875′ Book 1, by A.& N. Harding, page 148, figure 376.

Object Condition

Good. No restoration. A few paint losses to black lectern. Slight rubbing to gilt. KILN EFFECTS: over glazed chip to the left side.
