Object Description
Sterle of Paris cabochon sapphire and diamond ring. Set to centre with an oval cabochon natural unenhanced Ceylon sapphire in an open back rubover setting with an approximate weight of 9.00 carats, encircled by six round brilliant cut diamonds in open back grain settings with an approximate combined weight of 0.18 carats, to a heavy elegant bombĂ© cluster form with intricate swirling twisted openwork rows, alternating in threes from white to yellow gold, gently curving down the heavy tapering shoulders with open backholing to a smooth conforming solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat white and yellow gold, signed ‘STERLE – PARIS’, numbered ‘5744’, French, circa 1950, accompanied by Gem & Pearl Laboratory report #07624.
