Object Description
A beautifully presented late Victorian French gilt brass carriage clock with a more unusual silvered mask to the dial.
The eight day movement has its original silvered lever platform escapement, and strikes the hours and the passing of the half hour on a coiled gong. Depressing the repeat button on the top of the case will repeat the last hour struck.
The alarm is separately wound and strikes on the same gong.
The re-gilded Anglaise-style brass case is in exceptionally good condition.
The white enamel dial chapter rings are in perfect original condition. Both the time and the alarm dial have Art Nouveau styled numerals. They are set into a matt silvered mask.
Original matching blue steel lancet hands.
Height 19 cms (handle up)
