Object Description
This super quality George III silver argyle was made in London in 1779 by Andrew Fogelberg and measures approx 4.5 inches tall by 6.5 inches handle to spout and is 3 7/16 inches in dia, it has a beaded border both top and bottom a lovely swan neck spout and a raffia covered scrolled handle to the side with a spout opposite the handle that has a hinged cover, the hinged lid has a pineapple finial and to the front opposite the handle it has a medallion with a winged cherub inside, it is fully and clearly hallmarked under the base and to the lid rim with the makers mark and lion passant and is in very good condition weighing 12.8 ounces or 398 grams.
