Object Description
This super quality figural George III silver snuff box was made in Birmingham in 1794 by Vale & Co and measures 2 7/16 inches in dia and 9/16 inches deep. It has a very nicely detailed bust of George III to the lid that commemorates his coronation on Oct 25th 1760, it also has the name Edwin Broom engraved to the top rim as a previous owner and has a gilded interior when the pull off lid is removed. It is fully hallmarked in the base and inside the lid there is a very lightly struck makers mark, an unusual box in very good condition weighing 2.65 ounces or 81 grams.
