Object Description
This superb armorial Queen Anne Britannia silver tobacco box was made in London in 1709 by William Fleming and measures 3.75 inches long by 3 inches wide and has a large central coat of arms to the pull off lid surrounded by a band of bead like decoration and a larger band of fluted rope design and a further band of bead like decoration, it has a smaller band of rope decoration to the side of the lid and another on the base rim, it is fully hallmarked to the side on the outside of the base and also inside with the makers mark and lions head erased to the pull off lid and again inside the base with the lions head erased. A wonderful box of very good quality and condition weighing 4.35 ounces or 136 grams.
