Object Description
This superb armorial William and Mary silver porringer and cover was made in London in 1691 by John Austin and measures almost 9 inches tall and has a large coat of arms to the front and the body has spiral fluting to the bottom third of the body and the lid also has spiral fluting below the large acorn finial and a band of gadrooning towards the edge of the lid. It has cast scrolled arms either side with graduated beading leading from the engraved thumb pieces. It is fully and clearly hallmarked to the lid and under the base and is in excellent condition weighing 38 ounces or grams.
