Object Description
Superb quality set of 8 (6 + 2) Georgian Scottish mahogany dining chairs from the Ayrshire region. These chairs are of outstanding quality and as such as quite heavy. They have turned front legs with beautiful turned cross-over stretchers underneath. Lovely shaped backs with boxwood and ebony string inlay. The chairs have drop in seats that are currently upholstered in beige leather. The chairs are all in perfectly sound condition with no damage that I can see. (1 chair pad is slightly mis-shaped).
One of the chairs bears an old retailors label for “Norman Adams” who were once one of the foremost antiques dealers of the time in London.
The chairs are all a very nice mellow colour with waxed finish.
