Object Description

This superb quality Victorian silver trailing vine pattern pierced and engraved sifting spoon was made in London in 1858 by Francis Higgins and measures 6 inches in length by 2 3/8 inches across the bowl, the cast and pierced handle is beautifully decorated with bunches of grapes and vine leaves leading into an oval bowl that is fluted and gilded and nicely pierced with engraved bunches of grapes and vine leaves, it is fully and clearly hallmarked to the back of the bowl and is in excellent condition weighing 2.55 ounces or 79 grams.
