Object Description
Tall Wrought Iron Antique Gate. Formally a window grill, this gate belonged to the 240-year-old Georgian Mansion, Templeton House. Named after its first occupant Lady Elizabeth Templeton in 1786.
Elizabeth had created designs for the famous English potter, Josiah Wedgewood, making a name for herself as a designer. Another significant occupant of the home was a young Winston Churchill. Churchill had resided there in 1919 while the building was owned by his cousin.
The Grade II listed home later served as a hospital. Templeton House has an impressive architectural history and has recently undergone a full restoration.
This gate features a very unusual design.
We have two others available.
