Object Description
A Chinese hollow-moulded, part glazed terracotta statuette of a male attendant dating to the Tang Dynasty. The figure stands straight with his legs together. His right arm is bent to his chest and would have once grasped an object demonstrated by the hole in his hand. The other arm extended down by his side. The tunic features a small collar and long sleeves. It is tied around the waist and then slightly flares out near bottom. The front of the tunic is the only part where the glaze has survived displaying a yellow-green colouring. The legs and face have been painted pale pink while the shoes are a deep blue. The figure stands upon a square base. A small hole is visible to the front at the base of the tunic.
