Object Description

An original line engraving done in 1933. Signed in pencil below the plate.
Travelling Tinkers were a common sight in towns and villages up until the Second World War. Knives could be sharpened and metal pots repaired on the spot. In our picture a respectable lady is looking anxiously about should she be seen bringing a cane seat chair in for attention.
