The Picnic, Island Belle, & the schooner Harry L Belden, Nantucket Harbour, U.S.A. (circa 1890) by K. A. Griffin, watercolour on paper, showing a steam launch filled with day trippers and flying the Stars & Stripes, alongside two schooners with a paddle steamer in the hazy distance, signed ‘K A Griffin ©86’. English, 1886.

Fishing Schooner Harry L Belden was built by Moses Adams (1837-1894), an Essex County shipbuilder. He built eighty-five schooners and pilot boats, including the Harry L. Belden in 1889. The Harry L. Belden was wrecked on Green Island, New York in December 1901.
