Susan Isabel Dacre was a noted feminist and Suffragette. With her long term companion and fellow artist Annie Swynerton she founded the Manchester Society of Women Artists and served as it’s President. She was on the executive committee of the Manchester Society for Women’s Suffrage from 1885 to 1895. For many years she exhibited works at the Royal Academy, the New English Art Club, The Walker Gallery and at Manchester.
Good. We had the canvas relined immediately after purchase and have kept the painting in it’s original frame.
