This fine three-piece clock set is by Henri Picard, one of the leading producers of luxury bronze goods of his day. The set features a mantel clock and two candelabra, each crafted from gilt bronze and porcelain. The mantel clock features a shaped gilt bronze base moulded with palmettes and inset with two porcelain plaques, each with blue ground, gilt cartouches, and floral decorations. One side of the case features the circular clock drum, while the other features a large sculptural surmount in gilt bronze of a classical lady. The candelabra are similarly formed, each with a conforming gilt bronze and porcelain base and a stem modelled as a putto that issues three scrolling light branches. The dial is signed ‘Raingo Frères A Paris’ while the bronze is stamped ‘H. Picard’.
