Object Description

Two large carved chestnut reliefs of saints, possibly two of the apostles, one facing right, the other left. Both with draped robes finely carved with folds, and both with remains of the original polychrome decoration. Tyrol, late 16th/early 17th century, circa 1600.

They would have been part of a large altarpiece, probably representing the life of Christ.
