Object Description
This unusual Charles II silver, tortoiseshell and abalone tobacco box was made C1680 and measures 4 inches in length by 3.25 inches wide and is 1 inch deep, it has silver sides and rims with silver patterning to the pull off lid, the lid has an oval to the centre with abalone hearts to the edge with 4 shaped cartouches around the border with abalone crowns and 4 roundels of abalone – there are three small pieces of silver missing where it has lifted but nothing major, a very unusual box in good condition.
