Object Description
Unusual early, almost definitely, 18th century large size ladder back arm chair in ash, driftwood and pine. Most of the chair is constructed from ash and bits of driftwood with the original pine seat. Slightly unusual design and quite primitive which makes me believe this is possible a Scottish northern isles chair. The condition is OK for its age but there is some minor old damage and it has lost some hight from the base. The chair is the most gorgeous colour with original patination and a waxed finish. Would look lovely in a large Georgian hallway or similar.
SIZE; 24″ wide by 16″ deep by 37″ high overall. Seat height is 15 1/2″
CIRCA; Late 18th century.
ORIGIN; Possibly Scottish. Northern or Western Isles
