Object Description
A lovely and unusual George III brass bound mahogany peat or coal bucket, circa 1800.
The unusual and fine brass bound articulated strap handle is internally lined with a solid piece of steam bent mahogany. To one side is a well formed handle allowing the bucket to be tipped whilst held. It really is a very well thought out design.
The bucket is lined with what appears to be the original lining, which has historically been repaired to the base.
