Object Description
A very stylish French Art Deco sculpture of a young child with a young deer mounted on a red marble base by Uriano and dating from around 1925. The sculpture portrays a metal cast child with its arms outstretched reaching to hug a young deer. The child is dressed in shorts and a vest top and wears shoes and is very well detailed with a silvered finish with black patterning to the clothing and with fine facial and hair features. The deer stands with its head raised so as to greet the child and has a bronzed finish. The figure is mounted on a multi-sided shaped and cut marble red veined base and is not apparently marked.
