Object Description
This very fine armorial early George II silver pint mug was made in London in 1735 by John Fawdrey and measures 5 1/8 inches tall by 5 inches from the handle across and is 3.25 inches in dia across the top and almost 4 inches across the base, it has a cast double scroll handle with plain scrolled thumb piece and to the front there is a lovely coat of arms bearing the bannered motto FIDELIS AD URNAM below, it has a cast and stepped base and is fully hallmarked under the base where there is also a scratch weight of 30:2 pr so one of a pair, the condition and colour are excellent and it weighs 14.55 ounces or 453 grams.
