Very Large Pair Staffordshire Black & White Spaniels

Object Description

Pair of Staffordshire Pottery figures which feature a very large spaniel, front leg molded free, seated directly on the ground, no base. Black and white version. Bright gilt embellishment. Flatback, decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the reverse.

Object Condition

Right facing: Generally good. Rubbing to gilt. Slight wear to tail. RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched cracks to the reverse and left front paw. Left facing: Good. No restoration. Rubbing to gilt. KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to the chest.
