Object Description
This very rare and collectable Nelsons Victory George III silver vinaigrette was made in London in 1805 by John Shaw and measures 1.5 inches in length by 1 inch wide and is 5/16 inches deep, it is bright cut all over and has a Grecian key design to the top and base and a central square vacant cartouche to the lid, inside is revealed the most beautifully pierced and engraved silver gilt grille, it has laurel leaves either side of a central pierced and engraved picture of the Victory (Nelsons flagship) and a banner going around it saying Immortal Nelson. It is fully hallmarked to the lid and base and is in excellent condition – a very collectable vinaigrette.
