Object Description
Victorian almandine garnet solitaire ring. Set to centre with a cushion shape old cut natural almandine garnet in an open back claw setting, with an approximate weight of 3.27 carats, to an impressive solitaire design featuring curved claws, a solid gallery and large ovular backholing, flanked by broad integrated shoulders with detailed floral engraving that flows through to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 15 carat yellow gold, 9.73g, makers mark ‘LBRSE’, hallmark for Birmingham, English, circa 1870.
